Kapawi Tour

Kapawi is a haven in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest. ITINERARY

Day 1

Departure from Quito to Kapawi, an ecological reserve first-class accommodation in the virgin forest. The route will be through the Avenue of the Volcanoes in where the route can see the volcanoes Chimborazo and Cotopaxi Illinizas. After five hours we arrive to the population of Shell located in the eastern foothills of the Andes where we will fly to the Achuar communities, continue to canoeing on the River Capahuari up to the lodge. After the long journey we have time to rest and relax. Dinner.

Day 2

Early morning after breakfast we will walk through the woods, to early morning bird watching on the banks of the river Capahuari, visit the parrots salt lick. There are approximately 500 species of birds can be observed around many of the species are endemic to the area for this Kapawi Lodge has created a network of trails that will allow us to walk and bird watching. Return to the lodge.

Day 3

After breakfast, we went by canoe to visit one of the indigenous communities are on the banks of the Rio Napo. Here you will find a Quichua family, the same to show us their old ancestral customs about how the gold wash on the banks of the river, the development of traditional ceramics, the preparation of manioc beer and typical use of their hunting techniques with the gun. After moving into this exciting Quichua culture, we return to dodge enjoy a short tour of the secondary forest. Upon arrival, a delicious dinner awaits us.

Day 4

Morning after breakfast leave by canoe, observing the flora and fauna of secondary forest. Here you can enjoy a refreshing swim in its waters and relax enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Then we prepare for the trip back to Quito.
