Day 1

We left early from the city of Quito and headed toward the center of the Andean region, home of one of the highest active volcanoes of the world, Cotopaxi (5,897 m). After an hour and a half of travel we will be able to enjoy the typical landscape of the Cotopaxi National Park, which contains a large forest of more than 2100 hectares.

Visit the Indian Market is one of the most authentic markets in Ecuador, due to their colorful displays of spices, fruits and hand woven ponchos.

Then continue to the parking lot of the Cotopaxi National Park shelter, where we will start climbing for 45 minutes to the Jose Rivas refuge located at 4,800 meters, then walk about 15 minutes to reach the perpetual snows of Cotopaxi, here we can see the magnificence of the volcano and take pictures and enjoy a traditional snack accompanied by hot tea (sulfo water).

We return to the shelter and descend to the parking lot, where we take the bikes to make a descent direction Limpiopungo Lake at the base of the volcano Cotopaxi and Rumiñahui to 3800, we will find a wide variety of birds that will delight your senses to feel the vertigo of nature in full and complete our journey will visit the museum and interpretive center Cotopaxi National Park, which is a reminder of geological history with maps of the volcano along with examples of animals and birds in the area.

In the afternoon we go to a typical farm in the region and enjoy a delicious dinner.

On our tour we will see an overwhelming landscape, where we will have a spectacular view of Cotopaxi volcano at its best, we can also admire the valleys and the two main volcanoes of the Cordilleras of Ecuador.
