Crucita beach, Manabi

Crucita, is one of the favorite beach destinations Ecuador. Located in the canton of the same name, 40 km from Manta, 45 km Bahia de Caraquez and only 28 km from the capital of the province of Manabi Portoviejo. This site is the most visited beach resort in Ecuador, thanks its pleasant climate all year round.

Crucita has an area of 13 km. of beach with high waves, palm trees, ordinary people and the distant peaks of the mountains, make this an attractive retreat above the bustle of city life.

It is considered one of the best places to practice sports of hang-gliders and paragliders so each year there is international championships.

Also on the beach can be made Crucita sport fishing, boating, swimming and beach volleyball.

Crucita itself is a natural setting for the realization of important and successful events that routinely attract thousands to its beaches and thousands of domestic and foreign tourists who visit to enjoy the bounties of the sea and beautiful landscapes.

Its name is because in colonial times was a place where they watched the Virgin Mary and the Holy Cross in May, for Catholics the month of Mary. The Bishop of Canton on arrival placed a cross where the temple is now and since then it is called Crucita.

Its waters are blue-green and the sand is fine grained. In the vicinity of the beach can be found Crucita palapas, restaurants, walkways, hotels, wharf, cafes and clubs where you can enjoy a nice time with your family or friends.
