Day 1

Quito - Ecuador

Arrival in Quito at a luxury hotel. Day of rest. Overnight at the Hotel.

Día 2

This is a day of leisure. A variety of tours are available on that day. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 3

Baltra Island / Embark / North Seymour Island

In the morning, arrive at Baltra Island by Tame flight and will be transferred to the dock to board the Eclipse. There will be an introductory briefing, and then enjoy a delicious lunch on board. In the afternoon we will disembark on North Seymour Island, will walk along the coast and inland, we will observe colonies of blue footed boobies, frigates, lava gulls, sea lions and marine iguanas. A shorter walk will also be available. In the afternoon, enjoy a welcome cocktail offered by the Captain, then a naturalist guide briefing on the activities that we will have the next day and then dinner.

Day 4

Española Island

After breakfast, disembark at Gardner Bay has a beautiful white sand beach, we will take a short walk and observe sea lions, sisontes Galapagos finches or simply enjoy the beach. This bay is ideal for diving with snorkel (equipment is available without charge), you can also take a walk on glass-bottom boat.

In the afternoon, disembark at Punta Suarez for an exciting walk on lava rocks to visit colonies of seabirds such as the waved albatross (May to December) and the hole blower. It is available also a shorter walk. We will have a briefing naturalist guide and dinner.

Day 5

Floreana Island

After breakfast, disembark at Point Cormorant for an easy hike to see the flamingos that inhabit a brackish water lagoon, and other birds such as ducks, herons, etc. Excellent opportunity to dive with snorkel at the beach, or near Corona del Diablo. Those who can not snorkel can enjoy a walk on the glass bottom boat. Lunch on board.

In the afternoon, stroll into the historic Post Office Bay to see the human side of the islands. Then, a panga ride to get to nearby islets to observe sea lions, manta rays and sea turtles, boobies and possibly the Galapagos penguin. Exhibition of a naturalist and dinner at night.

Day 6

Santa Cruz Island

After enjoying breakfast, visit the highlands of Santa Cruz Island, a forest Scalesia and geological formation of craters Los Gemelos. From December to mid-April may be included a visit to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat, if weather conditions are fine. Lunch at the Finch Bay Hotel.

In the afternoon we visit the Charles Darwin Research Station and the giant tortoises, an impressive cactus forest and many landbirds. Then a walk along the main street of Puerto Ayora before embarking again. Naturalist's briefing and dinner.

Day 7

Genovesa Island

We landed at Darwin Bay for a walk where we will observe thousands of birds, mainly frigate, red footed and masked, gulls, herons, finches and Galapagos sisontes. If you wish to continue your walk by lava and rough terrain, or just go back to the beach to enjoy swimming and snorkelling breathing in this beautiful natural harbor. Those more adventurous can dive with snorkel along the rocks or ride kayaks sea. Lunch on board.

The evening begins with a very interesting dinghy ride along the cliffs and then disembark at Prince Philip's Steps to an increase of approximately 90 feet and then walk about one mile across this small island where we observe large colonies of blue-footed boobies, frigates and storm petrels. Those who do not wish to land can enjoy a panga ride through the cliffs longer (depending on weather conditions). Briefing with the naturalist and dinner.

Day 8

Isabela Island / Fernandina Island

Early risers will enjoy a cruise early in the morning in front of the famous volcano Ecuador, whose collapsed crater is partly under the water while crossing the equator.

To the northwest of Isabela Island, is hidden the Tagus Cove in past centuries was the favorite anchor for pirates and whalers. It is still possible to find graffiti painted on the walls. The vegetation in the area includes the fragrant trees of Palo Santo. An uphill walk takes us behind the Darwin crater, which is full of salt water. The view down the road makes the climb worthwhile. Darwin is one of six volcanoes of Isabela, a striking contrast to the lower islands to the east of the archipelago. Possibility of swimming, diving snorkel or kayak. There is no beach in the area, so that activities are made in pangas. Lunch on board.

Day 9

Santiago Island / Bartolome Island

In the afternoon we will have a medium length walk in Puerto Egas. Most of the landscape is solid ash layers and lava flows. This is a great opportunity to see the land and sea birds. At low tide, marine iguanas rubbing on the algae beds and there is a colony of sea lions skin. Opportunity to dive with snorkel and swim from the beach after the walk, or ride the glass bottom boat. Lunch on board.

In the afternoon, disembark at Bartolome Island for a trip to the summit of the island. This is a steep climb a wooden staircase, the view from the top is spectacular for what it's worth the effort. Then we'll have time for a panga ride around Pinnacle Rock to observe penguins before or after the ride. Farewell cocktail and departure briefing.

Day 10

Disembark / Flight to Quito

After breakfast, disembark and we will go to the airport for the flight back to the mainland. Overnight at a hotel in the city of Quito.

Day 11

Quito / Home

In the morning we will be transferred to the airport for flight back home.

Sun hat, sunglasses, sandals, sneakers, bathing suit, umbrella, waterproof sunscreen, snorkel and mask, beach towel and bath, windbreaker, light clothing, camera, binoculars.
