Española island, Galapagos Ecuador

The Española Island located in the extreme south of the Galapagos archipelago, is one of the older islands, with 300 million years of existence. At present there is no volcanic activity or volcanic cones, with very flat topography. It is the place where they reproduce most of the 12,000 pairs of albatrosses in the world. Because of its aridity and the lack of freshwater sources, it is virtually uninhabitable for humans, although it is a haven for seabirds.
