Babahoyo Ecuador

Babahoyo is the capital of the province of Los Ríos. It is one of the major cities of Ecuador and the river port in the country so it is considered the capital of Ecuador River. Surrounded by beautiful rivers like the river Babahoyo that join and flow into the River Guayas. Located northeast of Babahoyo near the Sierra is a purely agricultural parish which is dedicated to fishing and rice crops, banana, soybeans and other crops.

Provincial Capital Babahoyo closer to the Main Port Guayaquil. It is a strong and hard working city with the friendliness of its people and Agro Industry productive fertile land where it is produced, rice, soybeans, corn, bananas, cocoa.

Babahoyo can be seen in several animal species, thanks to the warm or hot weather enjoyed by the region. So farming is well developed because there are plenty of pigs, goats wide variety of poultry and aquatic animals as fish, shrimp, shell, etc ..

Babahoyo is located on the coast and is a must to go to the Sierra. It was founded on May 27, 1869, in the lands ceded, opposite the confluence of the rivers Babahoyo and Caracol, was established on the right bank of the St. Paul.

It was long called Bodegas, having been stationed there the Royal Customs and stores for the control of trade between the cities of Guayaquil and the Ecuadorian highlands.

On March 30, 1867 Babahoyo City was hit by many fires that swept all the assets of the population, so the governor of the city decided the move to the place today. Currently located across the river San Pablo.

Babahoyo has all the infrastructure services and most of the community facilities in the city. Babahoyo has recently become the center for the crystallization of important business and opening of large companies.

The city has several tourist attractions, one of them is to navigate the river Babahoyo, admiring the region's agricultural wealth. Also you can see the old houseboats that amaze visitors. On the right bank of the river is the Hacienda House, where the writer José Joaquín de Olmedo wrote the verses of the famous Song of Bolivar.
