Located in the southeast area of Peru, in the vast plateau of Collao, on the shores of Lake Titicaca, is considered the country's lake port and cultural center of the Altiplano, a region of the jungle, the mountains and the coast. Puno has several attractions like the Cathedral, which has a magnificent baroque style building, and lush seventeenth century carved stone facade, blending indigenous and Christian motifs. Built in the old Supay Kancha or frame of the devil, the work was completed on May 25, 1757.
Other major attractions of the city is the "Lake Titicaca." It is the highest navigable lake in the world at 3820m above sea level., With an area of 8560 km ² and a maximum depth of 227 meters and also emphasizes the transparency of its waters. In areas where the depth exceeds 25 meters waters are blue and the shallower is the transparent green color that give aquatic plants.
Lake Titicaca, Peru joins Bolivia and has 41 islands, home to an extraordinary fauna. In the reeds growing along its banks and is the habitat of birds and fish as parihuanas, ducks, guallatas, divers, and fish tiki chulumpi as trout, mackerel, suches, etc.
