Sagitta is a splendid ship of 37 meters in overall length and three masts. Originally built in Sweden, has capacity for 16 passengers in 10 comfortable cabins equipped with air conditioning. It has the most talented naturalist guides who offer a variety of activities designed to provide an intimate contact with the wonderful unique creatures and ecosystems with which accounts Galapagos Islands.
ITINERARY
Day 1
Quito - Ecuador
Arrival in Quito at a luxury hotel. Day of rest. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 2
Day of rest. A variety of tours available. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 3
Baltra Island / Embark / North Seymour Island
Departure from Quito in the morning take the flight to Baltra. Upon arrival we will be transferred to Sagitta. Our first outing will be at North Seymour Island where we will observe sea lions, blue footed boobies and frigates.
.Day 4
Santa Cruz Island
Santa Cruz is the second largest island in Galapagos, and the small town of Puerto Ayora is the economic center of the archipelago. Six different vegetation zones can be viewed here. The offices of the Charles Darwin Research Station and the Galapagos National Park, have as their parent the island. Scientists, park rangers and managers make huge efforts to preserve and protect the Galapagos Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage. The station is also a center for breeding and rearing of turtles where turtles of different subspecies are prepared for reintroduction to their natural habitat.
In the afternoon we will visit El Chato, a reserve in the highlands of Santa Cruz, where giant tortoises living together can be seen in the wild.
.Day 5
EspaƱola Island
In the morning, explore Gardner Bay in the Spanish island, where you can snorkel and take a panga ride. In the afternoon visit Punta Suarez where you look for large colonies of blue footed boobies, masked boobies, marine iguanas, albatrosses, terns and gulls.
.Day 6
Floreana Island
In the morning, at Punta Cormorant on Floreana Island, visit a lake that is home to pink flamingos, followed by a visit to a beautiful white sand beach where sea turtles nest. Later in the morning, snorkelling in the Devil's Crown. In the afternoon, we visit the famous and historic post office in Post Office Bay.
.Day 7
Isabela Island
This morning in Punta Moreno, Isabela Island, we will hike through lava fields. We will see cormorants and penguins on the road. In the afternoon, we will explore in Elizabeth Bay panga.
.Day 8
Isabela Island / Fernandina Island
We will walk around and see Urbina Bay land and marine iguanas, native and endemic plants and observe marine skeletons, which makes it very interesting to walk, especially for understanding the process of colonization of the island. In the afternoon we will visit Punta Espinoza, Fernandina Island. We expect to see large colonies of marine iguanas, flightless cormorants nesting penguins and baby seals.
Day 9
Santiago Island / Bartolome Island
Visit Puerto Egas on Santiago Island and take a walk along the coast, there will admire the ruins consist of a salt company and the many inhabitants on the shores of the place, as well as sea lions, chameleons, lizards and herons. In the afternoon explore the Bartolome Island, famous for its spectacular geological formations. Will walk to the summit where we will have a panoramic view of Pinnacle Rock, later, we will swim and snorkel along the coast.
Day 10
Baltra Island / Disembark - End of cruise
Land on the island of Baltra and transferred by bus to the airport for the flight back to the mainland. Rest in the afternoon. Overnight at a hotel in Quito
Day 11
Quito / Home
In the morning we will be transferred to the airport for flight back home.
