Quevedo is located on the coast in the province of Los Rios, is considered as the ninth largest city in Ecuador. This city is the main economic and commercial artery of the province, becoming one of the most important river ports in the country.
The city of Quevedo is strategically located, bordering several provinces belonging to the coast and mountains of Ecuador.
Quevedo Canton name is Mr. Timothy Quevedo in 1938 enters the rugged mountains and virgin, in order to perform the measurements and raise levels of this sector known by the names of Passage and High Palenque.
Quevedo parish belonged politically as Pujilà Canton, by decree since the September 22, 1852 in Guayaquil. In 1885 it belonged to Latacunga, of Canton Pujilà deleted. On October 6, 1860, Garcia Moreno, a supreme decree establishing the Rivers Province, Quevedo and it belongs to Canton Vinces.
The inhabitants of the city are characterized by friendly people, delivered, hardworking, eager to succeed.
Quevedo has a deep artistic and cultural sense. On the streets you can see various public events, to recall stories of past and living legends with customs that are present even in current generations.
Also on the outskirts of the city of Quevedo you can find numerous tourist sites such as Central Park, the Pier and bus terminal being built with modern infrastructure.
Quevedo also invites national and foreign tourists to enjoy the exquisite cuisine quevedeña, where you can find a wide variety of typical local dishes and international delicacies.
